Regulatory Intelligence
Regulatory intelligence is the continuous monitoring of regulators and legislatures to detect changes in rules, and the translation of each change into who is affected, what must be done, and by when.
In plain English
Detection alone is not intelligence. A feed of every circular a regulator publishes creates noise. Usable regulatory intelligence answers four questions per change: what changed, who it affects, what action is required, and what the deadline is — with a link to the source instrument so the underlying text can be checked.
Why it matters
Indian regulators issue amendments continuously across SEBI, RBI, MCA and GST. Compliance failures more often stem from not noticing a change than from misunderstanding a known one. Monitoring is a detection problem before it is an interpretation problem.
Example
A regulator amends a disclosure threshold. Useful intelligence states the new threshold, identifies which entity classes it applies to, specifies the first reporting period affected, gives the compliance date, and links the notification.

LegalTech & Compliance AICommon questions
What is regulatory intelligence?
Continuous monitoring of regulatory sources, with each detected change translated into its practical effect — who is affected, what action is needed, by when, and citing the source instrument.
How is it different from a regulatory newsletter?
A newsletter reports that something changed. Regulatory intelligence maps the change to the specific obligations of a specific organisation and puts a deadline against it.
